For most people, “trauma” is a vague, unclear term. If it means anything it would probably be the sort of physical trauma that is a consequence of an automobile accident or other physical disaster. “Psychological trauma” for most people means “PTSD”, is incorrectly thought of as something that happens mostly to soldiers. So, it is highly likely that the idea of psychological “trauma diagnosis” is a term that is something of a puzzle. Here, we will try to clarify the idea, and specify the diagnoses recognized by consensus.
